Decorative wall in dark beige color with two large abstract paintings at the top representing black and white spirals signed 'COHA'. These works are framed in light wood and placed on a black shelf. Below, a series of small illustrations framed in light wood, including various drawings, is lined up on a second black shelf. In the foreground, two wicker and fabric armchairs, one burgundy and the other gray, add a vintage touch to this warm and artistic space.

The double twist of COHA

The COHA spheres constitute a sort of double side. They are what they show themselves to be, the homogeneous, static face, perfectly closed on itself. But they are just as much what does not appear, the void and an abyss hiding within itself an invisible path. The sphere also symbolizes darkness and light, diversity and unity, infinity and plenitude, order and chaos, eternity and the ephemeral… Dualities which are felt in the interaction of its opposing but complementary aspects. The sphere is both a frame and an opening, a limited space that suggests the unlimited. This tension between what it contains and what it exceeds evokes a profound dynamic: that of interior and exterior movement, of expansion and withdrawal. In symbolic traditions, the sphere is often associated with the cosmos, divine perfection or universal balance. It embodies the perpetual return, the cycle of the seasons, the beginning again after each end. However, its apparent simplicity masks an infinite complexity. Each point on its circumference can be seen as a beginning or an end. Each passage along its route can evoke an infinite journey, a quest for meaning. We invite you to discover these dualities in the 17 paintings that you can find here:

The COHA circles can also be seen at Presta Art Gallery, and at Maison Albar – Hôtel Imperator in Nîmes.
